    Thats tories for you

So my parents have been kicked off the council list, because my 87 year old father didnt bid on all the properties he was intitled to, thus he broke the rules and has been kicked off the locata.

They were searching for a new council place in the first place because Ealing council has sold off the estare for regeneration, prices start at 300k for a studio flat on tne new place.

My dad used to hit us for crying, don't show weakness to others, now he's crying saying they are screwed, I've never see seen him cry, his blood pressure is in the danger zone because of stress he's been on statins for years anyway.

All you **** who think council house tennants are all scum pay attention to the reality of life in this **** hole of a country run by the self serving rich,

Why are you not providing for your father in his old age? He provided and looked after you in your young age!

can't you appeal? go to citizens advice, local mp etc. there's a lot of help out there.

seems unfair, help him get through the bureaucracy. There is a lot of pressure on council houses perhaps it will help to know it might go to someone from Syria or Iraq who can start to make a new life here.

Lol how am I to do that half our rent is housing benefit I use tax credits to pay the bills and my fiancee and father of our child has been abusive since his own father died and wants to leave us to the state, I am convinced he has sever/clinical depression.

My life is **** and everything just gets worse and worse all at the same time too.

If you ever fell on hard times and had to look for mental or financial help then you would suddenly realise there really isnt anything there, you are on your own.

I hope there are grounds for appeal. Doesn't see right an 87 year old is expected to keep track of all that.

They've done that the funny thing is guess where my dad used to work? Thats right the local council and before that he was a civil servant in whitehall

Agreed the rules can seem unfair , but they apply countrywide . Labour controlled Peterborough is the same . Whilst I sympathise with folks predicaments its very cheap, easy and uninformed to blame it on the Tories

Maybe payback for hitting you for crying, my dad was hard discipline too but the older they get it comes back to bite them.

That tories for you? It's a labour controlled council..... just saying.

Regardless of your political persuasion, maybe you should go and talk to the different councillors in your area. One of them should know how to move forward with this.

who else would you blame, they sold off the stock and wouldn't give the council's the money thinking it's better left to the private sector.

Should of worked harder in a young age maybe to provide for the future ? as until they let all the s h ee te in lately you should of realised that in life you only deserve to get out what you put in ?
does pee me of fthough taht although I work up to 18 hours a day to secure an early retirement you then get those that beetch away that they deserve something out of life to "be equal" .. In my mind .. no you don't as I would happily pay no tax or N.I. and not use the services . would be willing to contribute to armed services , emergency services , elderly folk and the genuinely disabled as well though , no money would be given to Africa and inbred 14 kid families in pakistan etc unless it was on condoms

no, they didn't. you are right Tony Blaire wanted to be like the Tories and attract their voters. he then had a open door on immigration. those things combined makes it worse today than most probably any time in living history for those needing help from the state.

the problem comes from the Thatcher years , property became the thing to have, unfortunately your fathers generation , like the young generation are paying for the Thatcher children . Best deals on pensions, housing . it's so wrong, so sad . I wish u luck .

does seem unfair but property in London and all capital cities progresses and unfashionable areas become valuable and in demand, you should probably find a suitable place for him without blaming the government who appear to have provided a home for pennies for so long.

Why didn't he bid on the other properties? Is it something where you have to choose something off a list and if you don't choose at least one then you get removed from the list?

I'm guessing you are in or around London?... move away to somewhere that's got housing? Too many in London getting council places, then right to buy, just to cash in on the extortionate value of property. Would be passed to you I guess too....nice little earner paid for by the council.

Immigrants nearly always vote labour, that is a fact. labour have virtually no interest in past native cultural preferences as long as it gets them elected.

What does he look like? Couldn't you put him in a dinghy and let him wash up on the coast and he could pretend to speak no English? He'll have a nice big house in Devon in no time!

    Sorry to hear error,

the whole council system is a joke now, my daughters just left home, she is living with her boyfriends mum for now, but she has no chance of getting a place of her own.

she works 2 jobs, and he works too, they cannot afford private, and no one will take them private anyway with the references and credit checks now required, and council won't take anyone unless your are literally homeless with kids.

we can't afford to help her out other than help with her bond, or let her live with us. the system doesn't work anymore.
