The Hut, Duplicate Order and Unable to Cancel Them

    Hi,

I just bought some Puma Shoes off The Hut, only to realise afterwards that I'd forgotten to check for discounts. I found a working code so I submitted a ticket to cancel that first order and then placed another order with the code.

Around five minutes ago, I received an email that stated that they were unable to cancel my order as it was waiting to be dispatched, despite the fact that it says they were going to dispatch it tomorrow anyway. So now I have two pairs of the exact same shoe coming - and I will most likely have to pay to return one of them as well!

Can anyone give me some tips on what to do? I've tried looking for an email adress for them, only to be constantly referred back to their dreadful 'support' page.

    Thanks.

You can decline one of them when you receive them. It will be pot luck which order you decline unless the order numbers are on the packages but will save you paying to return them!

EDIT: On second thoughts, as they are separate orders check the tracking info once they have been sent and just decline the full price one, they will be returned and should be refunded.

    How would I decline it?

Would I just say; 'Sorry, I do not want this product anymore' and close the door on the courier?

Essentially yes, just say to the courier "Please can I decline this parcel" - they should be familiar with the procedure.

They may ask you to sign still to say you've declined the item which is normal however just make sure you check what you are signing!!! Before a courier did this to me and tried to trick me into signing that I accepted the parcel - you shouldn't have this problem though.

If you have the tracking number some couriers like City Link will let you either cancel online or telephone them and cancel the consignment.

    Oh, okay thanks!

I was scared that I would have to pay crazy prices to return the pair of Pumas that I'd bought.

Also, do I need to inform The Hut that I will be declining it?

I just reread on the returns policy, and it sounds like I have to fill in a form and stuff in order to return it.

And thus, this does mean that I will have to pay for returning it right?

If so, does anyone know of any cheap couriers?

no if u decline it is returned to the company and they will eventually refund them...

    Are you sure?

I don't want the package to go back and not get the money from it..

by declining it you effectively "return to sender" and you have to pay nothing but still ends up back in there warehouse.

so yes in the long run thats what happens and you will get refunded (eventually)

    Okay thanks guys!

I'll report back when they're in the process of being delivered.

I wouldn't recommend declining the parcel. I read somewhere about someone refusing delivery of an overclockers order. Overclockers deducted a return to sender charge from their refund. Most courier charge the sender if the parcel is refused or returned to them. I would take delivery and return using your own means. Check parcels2go.com for quotes

    Oh, okay then.

Could I use a sender like P4D to do it? I like the sound of paying only 1 pound 20 to send it.

Is it also worth paying for recorded delivery?
