its beautiful - my mum and dad stayed in Glasgow for 5 years - but we only ever came to Edinburgh for days when the festival was on - and with the children - this time its for a few days on our own, so doing some ';grown up things' !

thanks - it looks areally good.

if you are going by train get a pus bus its a couple of pound or less if using a rail card unlimited lothian and one other ( ie main bus routes) for a day ,
also look for the half price offers or BYGOF on backs of discarded bus ticket, thing it was dungeons last time,
another is to book online before going if you are def going as some offers are not avilable at door,

also pick up leaflets about attractions in edinburgh Away from the city before you go, many have discounts and free places which are not on the ones in the city

great place as others have said plan some of the costlier stuff before and you will get money off,

one other thing if you are a family group taking out eg historic scotland in advance would get you obviouly into castle but if you are around a bit longer stirling castle ect and membership covered, they were doing 3 months free, also 50% off in England and IOM for 1st year then free 2nd , cheeper

Have you been to Edinburgh yet? I saw this and thought of you: groupon.co.uk/dea…895 £4 for 'Choice of City Tour: Famously Grisly Ghost Torture Tour or Explore the Dark Vaults of the South Bridge Underground for £4 with Auld Reekie Tours (£9.50 Value)'
Also 'Afternoon Tea and Cocktails for Two for £18 at Birdcage Bar and Restaurant (£40 Value)' seems rather nice.
