This scrappage scheme.....

My gf's car will be 10 in Feb 2010, so does this scheme roll on so to speak so that her car will be eligible come the 10th of Feb 2010? If it lasts that long!

The golden rule is that these ageing vehicles must have been first registered in Britain on or before August 31, 1999

so NO

Your old vehicle MUST:

•Be a car or LCV weighing up to 3.5 tonnes
•Have been first registered in the UK on or before 31 August 1999
•Be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in your name
•Have been registered to you continuously for the past 12 calendar months
•Have a UK address on the registration certificate (V5C) in the same name as the new vehicle
•Have a current MOT test certificate
•The old vehicle must not be an insurance write-off or subject to any financing arrangement
The new vehicle you want to buy must be:

•A car or LCV weighing up to 3.5 tonnes
•First registered in the UK on or after 18 May 2009
•Declared new at first registration in the UK with no former keepers
•Your new model should be a UK specification vehicle
•It should be registered to the same keeper at the same UK address as the vehicle being scrapped

Well it says:

> It will finish on the 28th February 2010 or until the funding is used up

But of course they may extend it, and if that is the case they may also change the "first registered" date.

Just for your info SKODA will give you scrappage on cars over 5 years old instead of 10 if you were maybe looking at a fabia or summat.
