Thomson Holidays - Booking T&C's

Found 27th Apr 2010
Not sure anyone can help, but i'll ask anyway

Mum & Dad booked holiday to Cyprus 2 week ago, flying 9 May for 7 days for a total cost of £1630 all in.. Paid in full as of last Wednesday iirc.

Checked today and they have reduced the price by a massive £400 per couple by offering the All Inclusive Deal for the Half Board Price.

Is there anything she can do to reclaim the £400. Obviously if he cancels and rebooks, she'll lose some of her money surely?

better if you hadn't checked... it's always cheaper a few weeks before you go

they agreed a price they paid, if thomson put the holiday price up would your parents be happy if they invoiced them the extra amount?

If they cancel so close to going regardless of when it was booked they will loose the whole wack. Holidays are always fluctuating in price on the whole getting cheaper and cheaper nearer the time.

Like I said, I had my thoughts about this and was 99% sure they couldn't do anything..

@ JFK - i did look at the T&C but could not see anything hence why i asked.

Was kinda hoping Thomson would have some kinda price promise like "if we reduced you're holiday within 2 weeks of booking, we shall refund the difference"

Oh well, wishful thinking :whistling:

Would be grateful to anyone that can find some T&C that explains price promise or the like

If they paid via a some credit or debit (visa) card you could claim from them. I have a halifax visa debit card and if i find the same product cheaper you can claim for the difference. I done about 4 times so far.

Did they book over the internet? If do maybe they can cancel under the distance selling regulations & rebook?
Hate it when this stuff happen especially when Thomson say they have the right to increase prices

How would the DSR's apply to a holiday booking exactly:thinking:

my holiday booked through thomson is now £90 cheaper, grrrr! i'm just living with it. i'm going on a nile cruise and there is only 52 cabins on the boat i'm on so couldn't really leave it till the last minute to book in case it was all sold out
