My dad lets me help tiling and i didn't think it was to hard. What he made sure i had was the crosses to divide the tiles evenly and also one of tho funny tools with the teeth.

It is easy, but you will have to get a tile cutter. Practice cutting on some old tiles first otherwise you might ruin the ones you want to put up.

Oh i forgot about that, i wasn't the best at using this.

dont use your little crosses flat leave them sticking out so you can remove them before grouting

DIY. very easy for an area that size. Try borrow an electric tile cutter.

    preparation is the key.

Any difficult spots, just dummy them up with a piece of cardboard. Once you've got the perfect fit, stencil and cut the tile.

remember to draw a vertical line at the exact centre point and work each way from there. And have whole tiles at the bottom as the cut ones will be hidden by the cupboards

csiman love the dexter pic have you watched series 3 yet ?

all I can say is.....if you dont give it a try , you will never know
Last week I changed the light fittings in my lounge, 2 electrical sockets, put up a new curtain rail, decorated the whole lounge, replaced the sealant round the patio doors and am very proud of myself. I have tiled around a bath in the past and really enjoyed doing it.
Go on give it a go.........Imsure it will look great

Try to find a good local tiler via word of mouth.
Take referals from people you trust.
If he lives nearby he's likely to have a reputation to protect.
Ask to see some of his work.
Remember that you'll need tools and knowledge if you want to tile yourself.
By the time you've bought / acquired these, it may not be economical unless you have intentions on doing a lot more tiling in future.
I would say put some effort into finding someone really good, that has good referals and a good reputation.
Read a little about tiling before the work gets done, then you'll have an idea of what is involved. Watch what they do on installation.
Ensure a good wall tile grout is used, and that it is the right colour for your tiles.
If you use a white grout for wall tiles, choose a grout with microban antifungicidal properties.
They tend to be bright white in colour, are easy to clean, keep their whiteness over time and dont attract mold. Normal white grout is slightly off white in colour, easily attracts mould and dirt in a damp or semi damp environment.
BAL Adhesives and grouts are excellent- you get what you pay for.
    tileadhesiveandgrout.co.uk/mod…=37
If you ever get a porcelain tiled floor installed onto plywood, use BAL Fastflex powder and liquid.
It is an expensive rubber based adhesive that allows the tiles "to give" when you walk on them.
It may be more expensive than a cheaper alternative but you will never have problems with your floor over time.
NB: White floor grout may look fantastic on installation but will get dirty quickly.!
If you do get the courage to try your hand and tiling (and why not), ensure your first attempt at tiling is on a project that is not too ambitious or important.
Your wife will kill you if you mess up her new beloved kitchen!

    :w00t: And TD too:p

    diy its easy.

easy if ya take your time

comb the adhesive and don't put it on thick, keep a bucket of water handy or you'll end up with it everywhere.

get powdered grout for a better finish.
