To Dog owners or anyone else that knows

My cousins dog constantly barks and he asked me to get a bark stop collar which i did. The dog however mauled it once when they didnt tie it up properly. They have since asked me to get a wireless one but theres so many on ebay does anyone have any experience in one that works? Would prefer if it worked both indoors and outdoors if possible if not outdoors would be better

Ive seen them and thought they were good as well but my cousin wants one without a collar - a wireless one for some reason. Thank you for your input though

it doesnt make them scared just annoys them so that they stop - if you ever heard this dog you would disagree:-D

totally against that.
ask your cousins to try the collar on themselves and see how they like it.

Rather than electric shock or nasty smells you can stop a dog from barking with training within a couple of weeks. If not prepared to put in a bit of work why have a dog?

Well said, the electric ones i think are banned in this country. All the dog needs is some training not being bullied into stopping but learning its place within the house. A barking dog can be very useful like in scaring away unwanted intruders.

Well apparently this dog keeps barking at night especially and even with training she doesnt stop. Its the neighbours that complain, not them and technically the council could intervene

In all fairness exessive and pointless barking can be frustrating, but he/she needs to seek advice from trainers etc and maybe take them training

(Or watch dog borstel)

Obviously not the right trainning if they can't do it then can contact a professional.
My dogs sleep in large cages at night upstairs once they go in they know it's time to sleep and they know they are safe and will be let out in the morning and i know exactly where they are and what they are doing.

seems a bit harsh to stop a dog from barking like that, if at all just leave it on him over night when its more annoying? or train it better

kick the dog up the ar$£ everytime it barks it will stop when it gets sore:thumbsup:

We had a dog that baked all night but I cured it in 2 hours flat.
Every time it barks kick it in the nuts. It will howl a few times but I know this method works with all male dogs. Bitches need slightly more accuracy on aiming.

PS works with the wife too. :-D

So its fine to strap a colour on a human and let it spray lemon liquid when it speaks, double standards thats what it is. I have to admit some people i would love to do this too

Dogs bark, its called nature its what they do. Oh let me guess you didn't know this before getting a dog. Sorry for sounding harsh but training can stop these problems, he could be barking for various reasons, but it seems people these days always want the quick fix.

Ok lets get something straight, i do not own a dog - please learn to read - i was simply asking advice for my cousin. I never endorsed/rejected any idea whatsoever - my cousin asked me to ask - tell you what ill give him your number and then you can have a go at him

Double standards - how can it be when i havent expressed my opinion in this matter?

Did i say this was aimed directly at you? No i did not, all i was doing is stating that i care about animals. Nothing wrong with that and if you think there is then i feel sorry for you.

I can understand you feel protective of your cousin but then this is a subject that some have strong opinions about.

That to me indicates you were directing it at nipper so i can see why they thought that

Well in your post you stated

"Oh let me guess YOU didn't know this before getting a dog"

I think that would suggest the post is directed at me and most others would think so too. Caring for animals is good - never suggested otherwise. Ws simply asking for peoples experiences of the product, not endorsing it.
