Superdrug have the Oral B Professional Care 5000XL in stock for £18.49 (half price - was £36.99). It's a good brush without all the expensive fancy bits. I have one and it's fab! Might be available in store, but it's online (delivery £3 or free if you're spending over £35)

Boots have the Philips Sonicare reduced to £49.99 which is excellent. If you go via quidco you save extra 3.5% plus I believe there are vouchers for extra points on here. Think if you spend £50 you get £5 voucher. UFAG82 for an extra 750 points (posted on another thread so not sure if it works)

You can indeed buy brush-heads to replace the worn out one (every 3 months or so). These vary in price from manufacturer to manufacturer but Oral-B ones are about £15 for a pack of 8 from Amazon at the moment which isn't too bad. If more than one person will be using the brush, you can put a coloured plastic band (4 colours included per head per pack) on the bottom of the brush-head so you know who's is who's.
In terms of battery, most are rechargeable and come with a charging base unit. They plug into shaver sockets though so if you don't have one of these, you'll need an adaptor plug (couple of quid in Argos or Woolies).

If it's all a bit confusing, why not pop into Boots and have a chat with one of the sales assistants. There are a lot of different products on the market and it can be confusing as to which is best. Of course, you don't have to buy from Boots but it might help to see some and go through the features. Then have a look online and find it cheaper elsewhere. Lol!

Had an Oral-B, now switched to the Philips Sonicare and find it better. Brushes are expensive but they last for 4-6 months.

Superdrug have braun half price at the moment - I have one and its great

Just got this Toothbrush for £18 from Littlewoods in the Sale and with Vouchers!

However, even through Boots, that price is not bad. I would recommend getting a Sonic Toothbrush for sure!
