Trading a standard edition game for limited edition @Game?

Found 28th Dec 2016
Got the standard editions of Root Letter and Steins Gate 0 and was thinking to trade them for £17 at Game.

Both are still sealed, got them from the base deal a while back.

What I want to do though is trade those two in and pick up the £20 limited editions (provided they're still in stock).

But the idea of going to the till... trading the game... then right after buying the better version with store credit, just doesn't sound like it'll work in reality.

Any similar experiences or is it something I'll just have to attempt when I go in?

Thanks!

Why not? Its fine, if they ask just explain you want the special editions, or sell them on here for abit more.

Go in, ask to trade them in and get them to put on a gift card (They also price match what CEX are offering remember), say you'll browse the store then buy...

They can actually. Managers discretion is in the terms.

The price for that game is £20 on cex website for a voucher, trade your game in at Game and ask them to price match cex, game will then pay you £21 by gift card, buy new game using gift card, meaning you upgraded your game for free with a £2 profit
