I heard tesco offer you £100 for your old tv

is there a way just to trade in the tv and not buy a new one?

Does any other company accept tv trade ins?

Basically i have a faulty 42 inch plasma tv where the screen shows colour disorder after a few minutes.

"is there a way just to trade in the tv and not buy a new one?"

Yes, it's called selling.

No, the offer in conditional on buying a new set.

Try Cash Converters or CEx, but do not hang around for minutes after they switch the set on.

Alternatively, try claiming on the warranty!

Cex test items and thus normally tell you to come back in xhours.

fp! You surprise me!

the sony trade in is against a new sony TV only.
50 off a 32" or 37", 100 off a 40" and 150 off a 46"

what you seem to want to do is get money for your old broken TV.
ad trader.
but if its faulty, you wont get much
cos you need to state that its faulty

"trade in" at tesco,s buy a new TV, (leaving your old one there), and return new TV a couple days later

Wouldn't gain anything, They'd just refund the price he paid and he would of basically gave his broken tv away...!!!

The CeX I visited once stank of BO it was gross! I did however make £200 from them on that one occasion however. It was just when the PSP first came out, Virgin (as it was then) got a surprise delivery of 10 PSP's while every other shop was sold out. I happened to be in the shop at the time an bought them all. I then walked 30 metres to CeX handed them across the counter. They were tested, £200 clear profit as CeX was buying them in for more than the RRP.

Yes I did feel moderately bad that some poor parents had to have their children whining that virgin were all sold out of PSP's.

Now that sort of thing to me is quite nasty because it means you cared about your own pockets more than people being happy.

I was a poor student at the time, the extra £200 was a very big helping hand, and no I didn't go out partying whilst I was a student, the money went on important things like course books. I'm now in a much better position financially to give money away. So the end justifies the means in this case, not that I'd advocate living by that rule.

I am a student but know that a huge amount of students that claim they are poor arent or just assume they are because they dont have a huge disposable income.

So you could afford to buy 10 PSP's easily yet you had problems paying bills!

Not trying to start an argument btw just saying.

No I understand, I just thought I'd clarify, I don't want to appear nasty that's all. I thought it a sensible use of the second installment of my student loan, believe me I was very poor as a student, my loan didn't cover even my housing as a student, I worked every Saturday and still had very little to live on! My parents wanted me to learn to rely on myself rather than them; it worked. I'm hapily married now and have a stable job, which I'm very thankful for given the current climate.
