I'm going down to London on 1st March and coming back the next day (2nd March).

I've got a young persons railcard.

I also need to have use of the underground for both days.

I've done a search online from P/Boro to London Zone 1 and can get an advanced ticket for £12.55 single so about £25 return but do you know if this includes the use of the underground?

Whats the best and cheapest way to do this journey?

All help is appreciated.

Hey.

The advanced tickets, especially to Zone 1, will not include underground. To use the underground you should either go for a travelcard, or a Oyster card.

If it were me, I would go for the advanced tickets as they seem a good price for a days break return, and then purchase or use an Oyster Card for the underground. There £3 deposit, and can be purchased on the underground ticket office (after filling a form) and at some shops.

check www.tfl.gov.uk for info on the oyster card,

Hope it helps,

Cheers, any idea how much a travelcard is for each day?

I can also get a return ticket to Kings Cross coming back the next day for £20.35 on first national so may do that and then get get a travelcard for each day if it doesn't cost too much.

Can I get a travelcard for the underground in advanced from Peterborough train station for example?

Check directly on the national express website, nationalexpresseastcoast.com/

They have lots of single fares from £9 with railcard so probably cheapest overall option.
