Found 23rd Feb 2010
I recently bought a return ticket from Newcastle to London Kingscross, for a job interview. I got offered a job this morning though, meaning that I no longer need the tickets. The ticket cost over £100 and they are for Thursday morning.

I knew that I ran the risk of loosing the money, but then I found out it is possible to get a refund for the tickets.

However, my issue is that the tickets need to be posted to an address, I would send them via special delivery, but this means they will be received on Thursday afternoon.

The customer service lines are now closed, so I need to wait until the morning before I can ring them. Does anyone know if its possible to take the tickets to the place to get refunded in person?

The tickets are with East Coast.

Cheers

If they are advanced tickets they cannot be refunded, but you can change the dates you travel on

The east coast website has allowed me to print off a refund form when selecting my tickets.

I don't think it's possible but worth a try. Don't ask don't get.

Where is the refund office?

If the address has a letter box you could deliver it tonight by hand maybe

This sounds like the terms:
"Refunds:
Your ticket is refundable. If you decide not to use your ticket to make all or part of your intended journey then you can get a refund by returning your unused ticket to the ticket office or place of purchase (for tickets bought via websites, telesales or travel agents) within 28 days of the ticket expiry date. You may be required to pay an administration fee. The refund amount will normally take into account any use you have made of the ticket and in some circumstances no refund will be paid."
I can't quite make sense of them but I think it goes in your favour..
