I want to start running and I'm unsure as to what trainers and bottoms to get.

I don't want to pay a fortune for trainers, but also I'm not sure a £10 pair in ebay will cut it.

Any tips? Thanks

Try a running shop as you need to find out if you need arch supports or not

As above, if you are going to run any distance regularly, it pays to a specialist running shop where they can analyse how you run and cater for how your feet need supporting. I didn't do this and ended up paying for it with a painful injury. Got fitted with some decent running trainers for about a ton but been pain-free ever since.

yep u need comfort only bad thing is the cost

Yep as already stated, a decent running shop (NOT sports direct or the likes) will give you the best advise and more importantly reliable advise. Yes the trainers may cost nearer to £100 rather than £40 but after your 1st pair you'll know what to look for in new pairs.

If you get the wrong pair initially, they could be totally wrong. Therefore putting you off going running, causing injury and wasting £20-40.

Do specialist running shops charge to get your feet checked? and would it look bad in the end if you didn't buy too lol, as they're inflated

Honestly they have the same price shoes online as in shops, so why not just buy them there and save yourself the wait.

Go swimming instead..

Oh.. and "don't forget to bring a towel"
