I was the luckiest one to watch the first special preview of film transformers yesterday. 2 hours of non stop thrill and excitement was so great. Michael Bay and Spielberg has done it again. I dont want to write to much as very few people would have seen it yesterday.

how many of you have seen and whats your opinion on it.

Not really...

It's like advising anyone against ever purchasing a DVD.

A 37" Screen @ 6ft away is hardly a small screen tbh.

this is the type of film cinemas were invented for:thumbsup:

ooopppppsssss :giggle:

The original film was better and that's not just from a nostalgia point of view. Kids these days will love this one though I guess, but anyone else would prefer the story and emotion of the original film.

not bad 9/10

I will download it and not see it out of the typical nostalga and anger at companies caring more about big bucks and ruining my childhood memories.

Wheres the - haven't seen it and won't be option :-(

Yea I was looking for that option as well, ah well must be one of those Government polls where the results are fixed :whistling:

Previews here this weekend but no-one who wants to go and see it

Desperate to see the film as the trailer looks amazing, will probably just go on my own.

Im a 1 star (but would have chosen 0 if the option was there) and here is why...(I actually fell asleep halfway through it!)

Characters were not developed at all - small jabs at the girls past, the boys grandfather, harly nothing on the boy himself.
Only a brief explination as to what the Transformers were doing on Earth and how they manifested into vehicles. No background on Cybertron, how Megatron / Optimus became leaders, why they decided to manifest as vehicles etc.

It has a terrible plot line (the race to the cube - yawn) and the direction was appauling. From what I saw there really was a lot of time an effort put into the creation of the machines themselves, however the closeness of the camera and the speed at which the battles were fought meant that not only was it hard to keep up with the action, but it was just as difficult to see who was actually involved in the brawls. Take the camera a short distance away from the action and the whole thing becomes more "viewable" then maybe get close in for particular moves etc, back to the distance view to continue. With the closeness as bad as I also didn't get the feeling of how big these machines were, which was a shame.

The love interest made me laugh, as did the lack of information surrounding the how the Cube and Megatron managed to where they did.

I really was dissapointed. Rates as one of the worst films of the year for me although it sounds like Die Hard 4 may well get the award for that one from what I have read. I hope RE3 does not go down the same road too.

What is it with films today? I mean I watch a lot of movies, however apart from Next (with Nicholas Cage) nothing this year has scremed originality to me and would make me part with my hard earned to go to the cinema for. I liked 1408 (with John Cusak) until it all went weird in the last 30 mins. Arrrrgghhhhh, give me a proper "film" any day, instead of all this "explosions with lack of storyline" rubbish.

Saw it this evening, really enjoyed it. Id pay again to watch it.
The cinema was full, but surprisingly quite. I think people were rivited, no chatting, rustling, giggling etc. Maybe it was past the chavs bedtime but thats what struck me, people were really watching the film.

Also the pic quality was stunning, near HD now at the one I went to, they say its 100% digital, no 35mm film reels  dunno!... but it was eye candy.

Managed to catch the last screening of it here and have to say I very much enjoyed it - while the plot is generally slow, irrelevent and filled with really cheesy clichés the transformers themselves more than make up for it, ILM did an amazing job.

What exactly were you expecting? It's a film about giant robots! It's not like the original cartoon had amazing deep plots with fantastic story writing and character development.

wow!!!

I was expecting somthing with a little bit of substance to be honest.

It was simply a badly made film and could have been sooooooooooo much better. Personally I think it just shows the laziness of filmmakers nowadays and thier intent on creaming as much money out of the punters as possible just becuase they have the rights to a big franchise. (for another example, just look at the mess that was Alien V's Predator!)

different horses for different courses

I loved it, My kids loved it.Easy watching movie for all the family,
I do agree though Simon NEXT movie was indeed brilliant.
Transformers gets a 9/10 from me as it kept the kids quiet for 2 hrs! lol
