Hi everyone,

Just wondering how people are getting to the world series on the 4th of July. I am planning to go from Manchester via Milton Keynes and would like to know if anyone is doing the same so we can all save on the taxi fare from MK to the racing ground. Preferably two people and also, I have 2 extra tickets to give away for the even so if anyone is interested they can have it for free! I can send them by post or if we can meet up at MK I'll just hand them over.

Thanks

The good thing about free tickets is that I say to my mate, I put the tickets and you drive us there.

So we will be driving there, I think is just about 40min on the M40 from London.

Driving as well - straight down from Birmingham.

Not been before, any idea what the format of the day is likely to be?

Driving from Leamington Spa. It's mega !! Me and my two boys went last year, but this time the whole family and another family going. Aim to be there for about 8am so you get a half-decent place to park. Very relaxed atmos, with various races throughout the day, and plenty for the kids to do in the off-track areas. Picnics, white wine and plenty of sunshades/parasols needed hopefully.

Driving down from Warrington - 2 1/2 hrs or so but i'll try and shave a little off that

Driving from Bristol

Only down the road really for us but i cant go now
Hubby is taking the kids instead with his dad.

Think I will need to get rid of my tickets. I don't think I will be able to go, do you feel there will be much interest?

We're travelling from Durham....maybe I should actually check how long it'll take!! LOL

5am start for you

Will be drivng downthe day before, staying at the campsite next door almost to Silverstone, some Golf place or something, it's good though, only £20 for the whole weekednd for the pitch.
Have a few beers and a BBQ, then get up int he morning and go watch the races, before a stupid long drive back to Ipswich

From what I have heard yes and it attracts about 1.2 Million people over the two days. I guess we should all just pray for a good weather so we can enjoy the day out.

my brothers are staying in the camp site too :w00t: they will be the rowdy kids

Depending on whether your going for a wander round or to actually watch some racing, then i would recommend going on the sunday if you want to see actual races and more entertainment on the track.
Saturday is mainly qualifying with only 3 races and therefore can be boring, sunday has 7 races.

Just make sure whatever day you go, you definately see the F1 Renault out on the track.
Standing at copse corner is brilliant and you get to see and hear the car screaming down the straight and hit copse at 180mph, fantastic to see and hear.

sounds good, got tickets for both days so will be going Sat and Sun

Does anyone know if there is a possibility of finding people to share the taxi trip with on the day from Milton keynes? And is it a good idea to pre-book or just turn up on the day and call one. I just called one of the taxi company up and the quote is £25 each way.......................that's a staggering £50 on taxi fare alone. I have already paid £40 for my train fare!

+1 to that. My 4yr old last year nearly wet himself with excitement when he heard it coming. Still got the vid on my phone.

I'll hopefully be going...travelling from MK so not far from me :-D

It's amazing when you think that the other races / cars seem quick then this beast comes along and has flown past without you realising !!!

was at Donington a few years ago and the F1 car stopped in front of us, spun its wheels up, did a quick 360 on the spot, then screamed off. I was grinning for ages and I'm 40 :-D
