Travelling to Bournmouth/Southampton

Hi guys, looking for some guidance here.

I need to travel from glasgow to bournmouth (or southampton, i will be staying halfway inbetween these towns so whatever is cheapest will do fine) on the 27th of May and return on the 28th.

There will be two people travelling and I had thought that the £2.50 each way flights were the best deal, making it £10 in total. But with all the extra fees ryanair charge, having to pay to check in, pay for luggage, handling fees, the price is now looking to be closer to £50.

So I was wondering if anyone could help me find a cheaper way of making this journey, or is ryanair the cheapest?

thanks in advance, will rep any helpers

there are direct trains- ]crosscountrytrains.co.uk
or: break the journey in london and use ]megatrain.com and buy 2 seperate journeys.
In terms of the ryanair- is there no way you can take just hand-luggage? its a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNG journey by train!
]flybe.com will fly you to southampton as well.

national express have an excellent sale right now as long as you don't mind the bus.

We do this with Ryanair from Prestwick to Bournemouth all the time, take hand luggage, its enough to do us for 3 days, then hire a car at Bournemouth airport.
Happy days.
We do this when visiting monkeyworld in dorset.
