Travelling to London from East Midlands

I will be visiting the city friday with my partner and will be staying there until saturday. Which is the cheapest way to get around London? Also if you have any ideas of what to do or see around London for two people that will be great.

Cool. Thanks Rain. will check it out. Will it be cheaper if i drive and park in the outskirts of london and just take the tube to get to the city? have any ideas where i can leave and park my car? cheers.

between the cost of parking and the congestion charge i would say it would probably be cheaper to park and ride plus your travel pass may cover some if not all of the journey. as for where to park i'm not sure, if you check this page

someone else has asked the same question and there's a couple of possibilities

Go down to London by train with Midland Mainline... less stress than the car, and you get two for one entry at many London attractions www.2for1entry.co.uk

My wife and I went to London this weekend just gone.
Travelled by train and it cost us £44 (by booking singles both ways;-) ) from Derby.
Much cheaper and easier than travelling by car, £40 petrol and then parking charges on top made it a no-brainer.
There may not be any cheaper tickets left now, but if you do go in future it's worth remembering.
