Tricky old PC game question

Does anyone remember a game that was a bit like discworld, iv been trying to hunt for it for ages and iv had no luck.

You had to do things on certain screens, on one screen you commanding 3 little creatures to do certain things just so you were able to advance.

sorry if that all i know, im sure the little guy had a wizards hat aswell and a cloak

im trying to get screenshots,

what a game that was, id love a game like that to come out, it was a bit like monkey island with all the humour.

I cant remeber the orge things, but i never finished the game.Im sure it was called Diceworld Noir

Ahhh monkey island 1 and 2 are in my top 5 favourite games of all time.

I remeber finishing MI2 at 12:15 on a tuesday on my amiga 1200.I've finished them countless times on the PC.I have them on my pocket PC now.
Im playing Day of the Tentacle on my pocket PC at the moment, which isnt as fun as MI.Sam and max was also good.also Indiana jones was good apart from the boxing

Is there a way of playing these old retro games like monkey island and Discworld on Vista? lol

mission impossible i think

Id love to get all the monkey islands up and running, might just have to buy an older pc and fire them up on that.

im not sure about vista .I know how to get them on XP

EDIT : Apparently the same thing works on Vista

]http//ww…rg/

Its a program which allows you to run classic Lucasarts games.

With monkey island i bought the Bounty Pack when it first came out (which contains MI1-3).unfortunately its not produced anymore, but can be bought for more then the RRP was on fleabay.

Or you can download them, which i did with Day of the tentacle

you know something add-man, im sure its the simon the sorcerer game,

that kind of rings a bell,

i can say for sure it was on a screen and you had to command 3 little things to do whatever it was so you could advance.

sorry for repeating myself but this has been going through my head on and off for oh...roughly about 3 years or so.

i could never think of the game !

rep added for the 2 of you!

did the game have voice?

Original Poster

no, it certainly didnt

all it had was music, oh thats right !! now i remember

it had about 12 blue square discs, so it must have been on the amiga

...or did the pc at that time take blue discs aswell?
im sure at that time it was floppy discs that pc's took

Simon the Sorcerer was voiced by Chris Barrie, that was classic.

was going to say simon the sorcerer but it's already been said, how about gobliiins?

Original Poster

Right i had a think about this last night, it was on every screen you had to get these like ^ gobliiins to do different tasks.
like you got one to pull a lever then the other would pump valves etc

Original Poster

A new chapter in the long-dormant Gobliiins series is being written, opening the door to goblin goofiness for the next generation of gamers.

Gobliiins 4 is being developed by a small independent team led by Pierre Gilhodes, a designer and graphic artist who cut his teeth on the original Gobliiins while working for Coktel Vision, a French game developer.

The basic premise behind Gobliiins 4 remains unchanged, with the player employing three goblins in an effort to move across a puzzle-filled map. The challenge comes not only from the puzzles, but from the goblins themselves: Typical for goblins, they are not especially bright, and each is capable of one - and only one - type of behavior. It's up to the player to their unique skills together in creative ways in order to progress through the game.

Gobliiins 4 will have 16 levels and will be rendered in full 3-D. The developers say the levels will be packed with puzzles and humor, but will not be overly difficult; according to the website, "An 8-year-old child puts between one and two hours to arrive at the end of each level."

Gobliiins 4 will be an all-ages game for the PC only, and is expected sometime in 2007. It will be released in English, French and German, but since the "target market" is Europe, North American Gobliiins fans may have to order online.

More details, as well as screenshots and trailers, can be found at the Gobliiins 4 website, translated into English via Google Language Tools. (For the original French version, click here.)]http//tr…ols

]http//tr…ols

Good to hear it's coming back. Glad I got it right!

scummvmds can also be used to run most of the old point and click games on a ds (if you've got an R4 or similar). i think there is also a version for the PSP. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good.
