    True crime books-whos into them?

    Banned
Thought i would start a thread on this as i am a little bored at work and dont intend on doing any actual work lol.

I have been into true crime books for most of my reading life. i dont think the machine gunners quite fits that genre but it is nearly there and it was the first book i really remember getting into.

since then i have read loads of true crime some i loved some i didnt.

anyway the reason it is at the forfront of my mind is that yesterday i paid £75 for a rare true crime book about the krays written by leslie payne. will i regert it? who knows, certainly when the wife sees the credit card bill lol

not sure what to discuss further than that but please recomend any good ones to me

Also if there is any good cross over books into the ficiton genre written like they are real then i may have a rean of them. i read one like that by ronnie knight and loved it.

You will get some rep for that  i will think about that.

I just read a book that seems to be mentioned in most UK crime books Billy Hill who was the boss of london apprentley before the Krays, i have been looking for it for ages. Then Wensley Clarkson wrote one about him, and Billy's son rereleased the book his dad wrote. It's a good book.

is there earlier books than 1950 where crims wrote them ?

Norman Mailer's The Executioner's Song is a good read imo
