Turn foreign coins into cash (Sterling, Euro or USD) @ Fourex

With the summer holiday season ending, many of us will return from their overseas holiday with leftover foreign currency in their pocket. Unfortunately no bank or bureau de change like Travelex or the post office will accept loose coins, so basically that money is lost unless you travel again to the same country.

Fourex has developed a solution and you can just pop your coins from over 150 different currencies and also former European currencies like Deutsche Mark, Italian Lira etc into one of their machines and get Sterling back, commission free.

Currently there are 5 machines in London (Kings Cross, London Bridge, Westfield Stratford,...) with many more machines across the whole country being installed shortly.

No deal here but thanks for the heads up

brilliant idea, wonder what the exchange rate will be like since they will need to physically transport it to the native country.

I would have agreed with you until I saw the 'Oyster-Card' post, which is the same principle: you return something with value and receive cash for it. Not sure why that qualifies as a deal and this one doesn't, probably because it was posted by a mod

That is good news. Always wondered why someone doesn't offer coin exchange facility at half the price as people would rather have half of something than nothing.

I got loads of euro coins and usa coins so may have a look at getting rid of the usa coins.

just chuck em in the charity collection you get at the airport when u land
