Anyone know a product called 'Instabind' available in UK (available in US). I just changed the carpets on stairs and would like to make a rug out of the leftover peices. Any suggestions? referring house185.wordpress.com/201…ug/

I am not sure about the product you mentioned but my parents went to a caravan store as apparently they get asked a lot to make rugs. They took the piece of offcut and someone bound and wove the edges. It was much cheaper, than they expected it to be.

Several smaller independent carpet shops in my area do carpet binding/whipping of the edges to make rugs. I'm sure it's around £1 per foot so very reasonable.

I just had this done myself, its very cheap (or at least it is in my area) much chepaer then buying a new rug. There is lots of local shops that seem to do it.

It has different names depending where you go, binding and whipping seem to be the ones i seed when i was looking
