Tv on the wall, no usb as far as I can see, can I still use roku/firestick?

Hi I want a fire stick/roku for my bedroom tv, it’s flush to the wall and I can only see a hdmi port, no usb, there is also one plug socket (for the TVs plug) on the wall behind the tv, so couldn’t use that unless there’s some kind of ultra slim plug adapter on the market, is there any products/ways I could overcome this. Not very techy here. Thanks in advance x

If you check around the back of the TV you should find a USB if it has a hdmi. Feel with your fingers.

If not, get an extension lead where you can plug the roku/firestick in and the tv.

Thank you. If I got the extension lead it would have to drag across the bedroom floor so would need to unplug when I’m not watching the tv. Would I need to do the whole set up/connect to WiFi with the stick every time I plugged to the mains or would all that be saved?
No, would only need to set up once. Just unplug when you're not using it
Ok thanks. Will try work out if there’s a usb behind the tv first
You could get a new plug socket with a USB included. Something like this

toolstation.com/bg-…BwE
You shouldn't need to drag the extension lead across the floor. Just unplug the telly, put the extension lead in that socket and put the tv plug and USB plug in the extension lead socket.

Google the make and model of your tv for a user manual it will say in there if it has a usb
Even with a USB socket in the TV, older TVs won't always supply enough current for a modern media stick. Also every time you turn the TV on you'll have to wait a minute for the media stick to boot up. If you're lucky the USB socket will be in a recess at the back of the TV. You can get right angled adapters to prevent the device from sticking out.

...my bedroom tv, it’s flush to the wall...
Why not do the job properly and take the TV down from the wall. Change the single socket for a double , check your TV for USB and put back on wall. Our TV is on a mount like this - amazon.co.uk/Ama…h=1 and can easily be pulled back from the wall to connect /disconnect USB sticks, etc. On one of our TV's have fitted a short USB extension (ebay.co.uk/itm…3Bs) this makes it better to use as the USB on the TV is tucked away. Maybe you could use such an extension to connect your Fire Stick further from the TV and nearer an existing mains socket?
