    Tv recorder box recommendations.

With talktalk and happy with the broadband but the you view box is so slow. They offered me a replacement but I would have to send our old one back and the Mrs has plenty of recordings she doesn't want to lose. As far as I'm aware there is no way of exporting recordings to say a usb memory stick and then back to the new machine. Was wondering if anybody has any recommendations for a decent cheapest box with catch up installed or if anybody has recently got a new box from talktalk that they recommend.
    Thanks.

Have a look in Cash Converters, CEX and places like that and you'll pick one up for around £30-40.

There's also a 4K version with bigger HDD but tend to be less common.

    Youview is fantastic though.

I bought a BT youview box for around £125 off amazon. I paid another £25 for 5 year cover as that seemed a bargain. Don't normally get extended cover for items. I got worried when I opened the box as it was so small, so I wondered what I had bought by mistake. Turns out they are small and have a solid state drive now. Was a gift for the outlaws and runs like a dream with no problems for the past 6 months.

Don't think any of them have SSD but they do have a 2.5" HDD.

Ok. It's was so small and never made a sound. Never got warm and run on low power. I assumed wrongly that there was ssd inside.

    It's a 2.5" Laptop drive, but agreed, they're silent!

Although the 4K version does have a small fan.
