ugg boots are they worth the money?

im thinking of buying some ugg style boots (the knitted ones)
have seen some in dotty ps etc but i was wondering if i should buy the genuine ones,is it just the name you are paying for or is the quality better and they last longer?
thanks

I would say you are paying for the name, wouldn't buy the £10/15 boots from the discount shoe shops but otherwise I would say quality is the same. I have both Uggs and Ugg style boots.

thanks,is there anywhere you recommend getting some from?

I would recommend TK MAXX "Bear paw" also I saw some "Emu" ugg boots in there today... x

Look at Emu boots, just like uggs, made with the same traditional Australian ways and top quality materials but a lot more reasonably priced.

have you thought of emu or sketchers they are supposed to be as long wearing as uggs and cheaper, sketchers do come up big

thanks everyone will have a look at the emu boots now
i have also read some people have to go a size smaller in the uggs,is the same true for the emu boots?

you do need a size smaller in uggs and sketchers, dependant on size you could even go down 2 sizes on the sketcher, dont know about emu

also worth keeping your eyes peeled on amazon they have had emu and sketchers at really cheap prices on and off

ok thanks will have a look now
the thing that puts me off them is i have seen some people wearing them and they are walking on the sides of the shoe rather than the sole not sure if that just happens with the cheap ones or if the more expensive ones do it too

to be honest i have never had a pair, but never seen anyone in uggs with this but hundreds of people wearing the cheap £10 ones doing it, lots of the young girls wear them and they look awful all trodden down but i suppose over a hundred pound is just a rediculous amount to them so they happy with their £5/£10 pairs

Ugg boots are the vilest most ridiculous looking boots in the world.

Have fun wearing one!

P.S forgot to mention how chavy they looks also.

im sure i would have lots of fun hopping around in one
i dont like all the ugg boots just the cardy type, want them for comfort and think they look nice with leggings

Hiya
Dont bother with the cheap ones. The soles give in. I have UGG's and they have lasted 4 years....they are still absolutely immaculate. I got them in size 9 too so I was pleased :). I dont agree with needing a size smaller. I also had EMU's but sold them as they were not very comfy.
Ignore the chav comments. That is people's opinion. I live in one of the most expensive area's in Swansea and I can categorically say I am not a chav!!

As far as i know it's the fake ones that do that.

Oh yes very nice and good price too

Aren't they supposed to be really bad for your feet?

i was never a fan of uggs and disliked them for years, but last year my sis bought me the grey pair (non knitted) and they are the most comfy things ever and i have since invested in another pair, a friend of mine purchased the knitted ones and she didnt like them i would say go for the suede ones as they mould to your feet, i havent any suggestions where to get some from as my sis said in the winter months they go up in price (dont know how true that is but i took her word for it as she has 5 pairs, so i class her as an ugg expert lol)
