    UK caused cholera, says Zimbabwe

The cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe which has left hundreds dead was caused by the UK, an ally of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has said.

Information Minister Sikhanyiso Ndlovu described the outbreak as a "genocidal onslaught on the people of Zimbabwe by the British".

On Thursday, Mr Mugabe said the spread of cholera had been halted.

But aid workers warned that the situation was worsening and the outbreak could last for months.

In his comments to media in Harare, Mr Ndlovu likened the appearance of cholera in Zimbabwe to a "serious biological chemical weapon" used by the British.

The Zimbabwean minister for information blames Britain for the cholera outbreak
He described it as "a calculated, racist, terrorist attack on Zimbabwe".

Mr Mugabe has already accused Western powers of plotting to use cholera as an excuse to invade and overthrow him.

    news.bbc.co.uk/1/h…stm PARAGRAPH 11:

"The WHO has warned that the total number of cases could reach 60,000 unless the epidemic was stopped. "

I always wondered what the WHO were upto these days.... they should really be doing tours IMHO.

if britain was so concerned about the plight of africans in general it wouldnt keep stoking the fire and creating friction, not to mention the coloniolisation in which the europeans raped the resources and left it to deteriorate to what it is now.

Look, going back 100+ years isn't going to fix things. More or less, they were left to it - now, when corruption and greed has decimated the continent, they decide they WANT our help?

Not going to say too much, but part of me says - they've made their bed, they can lie in it.

I do feel sorry for the people, but how many times do the developed world need to step in before this sort of thing becomes a thing of the past?

forget 100 years, mugabe was given a now relinquished 'honoury knighthood' - kings guard commonwealth blah blah- in 1994!

    And?

The fact it was taken back does say something about how he is regarded by our government.

The lack of government action says something else, however....

Funny, he was denying that there was a cholera outbreak yesterday...

I would agree, to a point, but when we are being accused of killing thousands of Zimbabweans and being terrorists, i think it's time to get involved.

If we accused another country with bringing MRSA to the UK for example, do you think they'd sit back and take it?
