Uncharted 4.....Falling to a cruel death.

Just been watching the Uncharted 4 gameplay video over on IGN, Looks both stunning and beautiful (for a console game)

But notice how Nathan falls to his death at 9:30.

Did I see it correctly, did he just literally fall through the ground in some graphical glitch? Or have I witnessed it completely wrong?

I'd expect that from maybe a Mega Drive game, or even a PS1, but really? Wouldn't that bit be cut out of a launch promo video?

Maybe Andy, bit poor for a video game in 2014 to be experiencing this?

Hmmm well I disagree tbh.
The game is a year away from launch (I guess) and death animation/falling into the sea are probably one of the last things on the list to do.
I guessing that they thought that they weren't a casul & wouldn't die

When is Fallout 4 coming?

Im just been somewhat picky, I did read a comment on IGN that suggested the commenter was more than impressed with how beautiful the graphics are, but (at the risk of fuelling a war) when you have seen Tomb Raider (for example) played on a PC at max settings, It's nothing new.

I just found the glitch to be a disappointing addition to what was a well presented gameplay video.

I was impressed, the thing about ND is their attention to detail.

Looks stunning, I will crawl back under my rock

All jokes aside, That video is great for pointing out even some of the things we may generally not look out for, Highly impressed with both the cave scene (flash light shadowing) and the foliage detail.

Looks to me like he got shot while he was jumping to reach the next part of the ledge...

I guess because of the cliffs/rocks that it made the level seem more bland than it actually was, if you catch my drift.

I was impressed with the level design (be great in MP) and despite the sparse number of enemies it was still quite challenging ... in the past I think Uncharted has raised the difficulty by throwing lots of enemies at you or them being bullet sponges so it is nice for them to move away from that.
Of course who knows what the rest of the game is like.

I forgot pre-alpha games had to be 100% perfect.. oh wait.

Do you really expect it to be like that in the final release?

Naughty Dog must be doing something right if the only flaw you can find from a 15 minute pre-alpha gameplay is 'falling through the ground upon death'..

Yes.

Is Uncharted 4 the generational leap we were hoping for? Digital Foundry presents its take on the 15-minute gameplay demo.

I love how casual his question was..

Graphics aren't really everything with Uncharted though, I much preferred Uncharted 2 to 3 the story was much better, as were the gameplay and set pieces. but all the same i cannot wait!!

Totally agree mate, Golden Abyss (Vita) at the time was one of the first games I had a second play through on in a very long time.

Golden abyss is a great game.

The ppl who promote the releases are extremely clever ppl, who need too stimulate the public interest. Instead of just releasing they need to generate the interest. As they have done here.

Nathan did not do very well here either...
