Hi Guys
I dont know how much water usually costs and its obviously hard to explain how much we use due to not having a water meter etc...
But does £59 a month sound s alittle pricy for a water bill?
I im in a semi-detatched 2 bed bungalow in merseyside with just 2 of us in there and we work fulltime mon-fri.
Its a new boiler and recently insulated and all double glased etc...
We dont use heating very much as its a well insulated small house.
The garden is all flagged so we dont water the garden much and we only have 1 bathroom with 1 bath/shower.

Last months bill was £55 and this month £59
am i being ripped off? would a water meter help me?

Thanks for any info!

why are you paying different amounts per month if you not on a meter, also isnt your bill split over less than 12 months
Ask to have an assessed bill. That way you won't be charged at the rateable value of your property.
Get a water meter put in I live in a two bed bungalow and was paying £42 a month now I pay £23 it's scandalous how they can just guestimate your bill, get it so wrong and get away with it.
we had a water meter in our last apartment which was a two bedroomed place, only two of us there, i was studying so i was home a lot. and we had showers everyday and batsh fairly often. We were getting charge around £75 per quarter...so around £25 pm.
Sounds very high to me, i'm in the south east and our bill is around £40 a month and we are not on a meter. Before we moved 2 years ago to our current house ( 3 bed ) we had a new build 2 bed flat on a meter and that was around £25- £30 a month.
Thanks guys!
ill get onto them and play hell
Sounds very expensive tbh. I would have expected around £25 a month. In our house there are 3 of us and between us there must be about 10 baths a week, 4 showers plus the dishwasher every day and about 8 loads of washing a week and our metered bill is around £24 a month.

do not ask for a water meter. we didnt have one in our last house and … do not ask for a water meter. we didnt have one in our last house and paid £30 a month via DD. now we are on a meter and pay £65 a month, dont use any more water then we did before still just the 3 of us living here.yet the guy on the one side of us pays £25 a month and the couple the other side pay the same as us.the meters are flaming expensive.

You must be a heavy water user then. Thus depends on your usage what works out best.
lol we dont even have a dishwasher (other than the mrs )
So we should be pretty light users.
Ill call them and see whats going on.
Is there anyone else you can go with other than united utilities?
