Universities, Business Management

Right, I'm going to do a Business Management Course at Uni but I'm not sure which Uni I would like to go to. There are a lot of open days ATM so I need to start having a look round.

I'd like to go somewhere that:
-Is based on one campus
-Has good sport facilities
-Has good accommodation (I would like it to have a bar if possible)
-Has good night life, lots of clubs, pubs etc

If anyone's got any ideas please let me know.

SaaFe.

Lancaster all the way

they have a top business and management school one of the best in the country

it is a campus based uni rated 10th in the country.

i am currently there my self (doing computer science) and would rate the uni very very high it is a very unique experience with there being 9 different colleges that split the uni up into different groups there is 9 bars on campus and lots of clubs in town

would well recommend it

Oxford

lincoln has good sport, nightlife and business, not a great uni though

What grades do you expect to get next year?
Really you should be going for a uni asking for around what you get at AS.

I regret going for a course asking for BBC, when I was on CCD last year (I applied for the same course at UEA)

Yeah, I've just had a look at The Times' Uni Ratings and it's ranked very low. Don't wanna go there TBH.

Cheers for the input though.

I can't really tell what grades I'll get as I don't get my AS results until September.

I recon I will get BBB at A Level though. I could do better if I tried though.

tell that to your gyal

Hull(where I am at) and doing Business, think it was the top rated uni in the UK for student life, has its own bars and nightclubs on campus, burger vans. across the road from a big bar, loads of take aways(some even sell booze) some of the accomodation is dirt cheap, £65 for a room in halls fully catered, and as cheap as £30 self catered in private with free internet. Hull itself has a bad rep but the student area is fantastic.

Hhhhhhhmmmmmm, Business Mangement is a tricky course to do as like most degrees they are not specifically targeted to one sector in the work industry and jobs are hard to come by as qualifications count more than a degree!! Leeds Met Uni is known to be good for this and also I would encourage to another subject with this which most Uni's do, such IT,Law Accountancy etc.....

Mainly useless business lecturers at Birmingham when I was there, but may have been because I was doing a minor in BM.

I want to do a 4 year sandwich course with a years work placement which will I heard increases your employability massively.

The main reason that I want to do Business Management is because I'm not too sure what I want to do when I'm older - so that leaves my options open.

The placement year does help as some companies ask you to come back and work for them when you have finished your degree and very good to go on the CV! But like I said before try mixing two subjects together!!

Good Luck on your search!!

JFK, if you don't know what you want to do when your older then do an engineering degree. They are much more valuble than a business degree and will open a lot more doors for you. Businesses love people with engineering degrees because of the problem solving aspects of the courses as well as the team working ethos.

What AS levels/A levels are you currently taking?

I looked at an Engineering degree but it's not really my thing.

I'm taking P.E, Business and Economics; Psychology and Media.

Birmingham isn't all on one campus, is it? I might be wrong...

Going back to surrey, they also have thebest placement years on offer, my gf has just finished the 4 year degree there, and was offered many placement years, most with great pay. Surrey is in Guildford, and is all on one campus, and is just about to open a massive sports centre which will host the british olympic swimming team training. GL with your search, let us know what you decide to apply to.

Hey, I studied at NTU and my OH has just finished his degree in business at Nottingham Trent. Their city campus is under major renovation which could really benefit you at the time you'll be joining. As the campus is directly in the city centre you have our SU (student union) at the heart of the city alongside the cities pubs, clubs and bars. Most student accomodation is literally less than 10minutes walking distance or at the most a tram ride from the campus and the whole area is made up of private rented student accomodation so it's easy to get fixed up. Sports-they have 2 gyms and a pool and a major selection of sports clubs. My OH was a member of the hockey team for all 4 years and I have friends in the cricket, swimming, rowing, climbing and football teams.

Their website is pretty informative I think, check it out if you're interested www.ntu.ac.uk

Best of luck in your exams, and have a look at as many places as possible to keep your options open.

Loughborough all the way without a doubt. In the centre of the country between Nottingham and Leicester, both of which are great for going out.

The campus is all enclosed apart from 1 or 2 bits and most likely still the best sporting uni in the country. I might be a bit biased, but compared to all the uni's ive been to in my time, this was without a doubt the best.

I done a part management degree and can say that the business side isn't the best, but they did open the extension to the business school a few years back and its improving.
