    Unpaid Item strike

I just thought I would give eBay some good, free publicity for a change...

I purchased something last week on eBay. I had contacted the seller twice before the end of the auction, and twice after...
They never replied. I never paid. They left me an unpaid item strike.

I just emailed eBay about 15 minutes ago and explained the situation (I emailed the seller 4 times, they had received 7 negative feedbacks in less than 1 month, of course I had concerns, he never replied, why should I be held responsible to pay etc.???)

They have removed the unpaid item strike! That is what I call service! Less than 20 minutes and the case is resolved...I have waited longer in the que, taking something back to M&S to get the matter resolved!
They get a lot of bad press, but today, I am a very satisfied customer

so you purchased something, then never paid and got away with it, errrmmm thats gonna go down with alot of sellers

Its buyers like you that waste the time of the genuine sellers, if you buy an item you pay for it, you have entered into a contracting by placing the bid on the item, sounds like you deserved the strike :x

    That sounds reasonable

Why did you bid on it if you knew the seller had so many negs in 1 month?

I can see where OP is coming from as recently Paypal temp limited my account after I recived some cash for something I sold which I used to purchase something and paypal held the funds from my account and asked for suppliers notices. The 3 sellers I bought from opened UID disputes and won and Ebay refused to lift the strikes and supsended that account, had to open a new one.

So Ebay isnt all that good.

He only had 4 when I bid. He picked up another 3 before I had to pay. I think some of you are missing the point. Yes, eBay is a binding contract blah blah blah, but if you are selling something, and the buyer emails you, and you don't respond, on 4 seperate occasions I might add, then why should they be expected to pay? Where was the seller's responsibility?
    eg.

    Hi,
Thank you for winning my item. How would you like to pay? I see that you are local, would you like to pick it up, or arrange to meet etc. etc. etc

    Hello,
I haven't listed Special Delivery. If you would like to pay and have the item sent out quicker bla blah bla.

I agree. A genuine seller would have been paid. Someone taking the hits on the negs, and not replying to emails, doesn't get my cash, and I am delighted that eBay thinks the same :-D

No Paypal held the funds AFTER I paid the Ebay items saying that they are possibly fraudulent.

And as their "investigation" took about 2 weeks the sellers all said along the lines of "auction says payment within 3 days and unpaid dispute after 7th day" and just said they have never heard of Paypal holding buyers payments before.

It's not the first Ebay account I have had, nor the second or the tenth as I have been a member around 10 years since it opened.

Some people expect silver service, it's really not complicated,You ask … Some people expect silver service, it's really not complicated,You ask questions before bidding, you buy, you pay, you wait and then leave fb easy.If every seller had to send out personalised emails you could never run a business. You contatced them twice before the end of the auction should of alerted you to their "contact" issues but you still went ahead and bid anyway, pointless.

I sold 31 items last week, I DO run a business from eBay, and I send all my buyers "personalised emails", as you put it. Takes less than 1 minute to email, less than 30 minutes, worth it for the personal service and the repeat custom.
He may have been out, away on business etc. before the end of auction, but would be back to collect his money/make sure he has been paid, post out the items etc, he then had a chance to read my emails. He must have chosen not to reply, the same way I chose not to pay.

That's the difference between the personalised touch. Being Paid, and not Being Paid.
Pointless, no. He replies, we interact, he gets paid, I get what I bid on. He doesn't respond, we don't interact, he doesn't get paid, I buy from someone else.

The buyers on ebay are way too powerful as it is, so easy to get money back even when the item has been received, and buyers can leave negative for no reason at all, and the only power a seller has is an unpaid strike and it sounds like they are easy to get rid of anyway. Sounds to me like a waste of space buyer, who has just refused to pay based on FB, just pay for the item, very easy to get money back if the item is not received. Also can you provide your Ebay User ID so i can block you from buying

Ok then, 4 negs in one month and you still bid? No sympathy here.

And why so many accounts? I've been a member with one account for around 8 years.

    Nightmare buyer.

    Debatable...But a Great seller

Ebay are ****, no stories in the world can make them appear better in my books. They could just charge 5% or less for a Final Value Fee, but nooo they have to charge around 10%

Part of the reason was for the first few I had back in early days I was too eager to buy things and didnt have enough cash to pay for so got negs so opened new ones, then a few times forgot the login details as I hadnt been on for months, and I have started say a buying ID, a selling ID and a posting ID, then changed around each one on and off, and its not the first time I have had a UID each time has been Paypal errors like limiting account till I get verified, holding my cash for no reason for 8 months etc.

    causing trouble again Rehydrated!

I hate sellers who like to get all pally with the emails, very unprofessional. I want what I bought, not to be your best friend. Instead of wasting time on emails, get your **** down to the post office with my gear
