Oh thankyou::roll: I wont answer again I usually have picked it up before I realise, I will have to read it first in future.

Tele-marketing systems dial several numbers at the same time, the first person to answer gets the marketing call, the remaining numbers get disconnected.

Yes I have had those before but nothing like this ,why does it say goodbye ,they usually just cut you off .

report it as an offensive phone call, then it will get blocked and you wont see it
this is free to do as well, just jot down the exact time you were called, and phone your supplier and say it sounds like a perv

Search in google "register for the telephone prefence service" it should help you. I don't give my home number to anyone unless they are family, unless it is a finance proposal as this can help getting accepted

If you dial 1471 and it has the number who has called, sometimes this website is useful:

TPS all your numbers (inc mobiles). It's a useful tool in getting rid of any sales or promo calls. Doesn't apply to Market Researchers tho.

did this myself about 2 months ago when i was getting daily calls, i don't get any now

Will bump this one.lmao automated message saying goodbye, means they know what time your in home and how many times you anwser the phone so they know when to ring to sell you stuff
its an action designed to turn a situation to one's own advantage. ie meaning theywill ring you at the times you answer the phone

Only way to stop it like i did ,was to change my number.

Invest in a "true call" available online as seen on dragons den. It screens every call and asks the caller to say their name,(sales calls hang up) then the box calls you and asks you if you want to speak to this person. If you "zap" them it hangs up on them and tells them not to call again If you "star" the caller (family) they are never screened again and calls come straight through. It automatically hangs up on automated calls too. But the best thing about the box is you can set it to record all incoming and outgoing calls too (no extra cost). This is handy for insurance calls or I imagine handy if a partner was being abusive
