Unwanted Phone Calls On New Mobile

I just got a new phone from o2 about a month ago. Up until now, I've had no problems.

However, just yesterday, I started getting barraged by phone calls from a service called 08000 Mum Dad, which claims that someone wants to speak to me using a reverse charge call. The portion of the call where you hear the name of the person claimining to want to talk to you is indecipherable: it sounds like someone is trying to trick me into accepting the reverse charges.

The problem is that even if I reject the call, it rings back again immediately: it did this 11 times in quick succession yesterday!

Does anyone know anything about this service, and more importantly, does anyone know if it's possible to prevent them from spamming me with this rubbish? Usually, I would never answer a 'number unknown' call, but I'm waiting to hear back about jobs and don't want to have to reject all unknown callers just because one of them can't behave like a responsible organisation.

    Cheers!

If you know the number then ring up O2 and tell them about it. They'll bar the number from calling you.

As I said, it shows up as 'unknown number'. If you want to place a reverse charge call, you dial 08000 MUMDAD, but this is not the number which calls you if you are the person who is expected to accept the reversed charges.
