Unwanted pop ups using chrome android

I regularly get the following pop-up when using chrome browser on an android phone. It seems to be when I'm on the mirror newspaper Web site. I've run an avg virus scan which isn't picking anything up. I'd like to be certain it's just the site that's throwing this ad and nothing malicious is on my phone.
There doesn't seem to be a pop up blocker option in chrome for Android to stop them.

Anything else I can check/do ?

Install the free version of Malwarebytes and run a scan, that should pick up the malware and remove it: malwarebytes.com/pre…um/
Hey I am getting the exact same thing, not just on chrome but my other internet browsers to, right pain in the butt... if you find out what is causing it let me know, just to ad it's not the mirror site as mine pops up even when I go to type anything in the search bar.

Not being nasty towards anyone at all but it's relieving to know someone else out there is getting this. I began to think I was the only one! I posted a question just like this and scoured t'internet and couldn't find anything on it. Similar things but not this 'Amazon' one.

Been happening for a couple of months now. Only use Chrome browser on my tablet and it ONLY ever pops up if I'm on Ebay or Gumtree (which I think is owned by Ebay isn't it?) and nowhere else. If I visit either of these sites, it's not too many minutes before it pops up. I have already got Malwarebytes installed and it never finds a thing. I have also tried a couple of other apps that supposedly tell you if any of your apps are using 'push' notifications to throw these pop-ups your way but again, nothing doing. Everything suggests my tab is 'clean' so I'm not sure now.

I have so little apps installed but am slowly removing them one-by-one and trial-running to see if they suddenly stop. I do wonder if it is the websites themselves that are 'infected' by malicious ads that may be forcing pop-ups, as like I said - it only ever happens (for me, anyway) on those two websites. I did wonder if it was Chrome itself that was infected but as malnuman has suggested it's on other browsers too, I guess not.

If I find anything else out, I'll certainly report back here. I think the only upside at the mo, nidgesy, is that it doesn't appear to have done anything bad that I can see. I just never click on the pop-up and just close Chrome and restart.

Best regards, Phsy.

Use an ad-blocker/ pop-up blocker

I think Chrome has it's own pop-up blocker which is "on" at present anyway. Maybe this annoying pop-up has a way to circumvent it? Perhaps an 'external' pop-up blocker is worth investigating?

Realised I'd installed malware bytes recently but didn't run it because it complained about other apps being able to be on top (or something similar) but this time it ran ok without finding anything.

I found the popup blocker setting in chrome and it's on.

Does everyone get similar amazon/iPhone pop up?

Not sure how an additional popup blocker app would work with chrome. Any recommendations for a well trusted one?
I have the best answer here

STOP USING DODGY WEBPAGES

those popups are mostly found on porn/warez/cloud storage (like rapidgator stuff), you wont get it on any other webpage

its not an experience its a fact
Ad block plus sorted it for me.
I always get this on the mirror site. Stopped using it now...!
I don't know if anyone else has noticed but this pop-up seems to have stopped (for me) now. I haven't noticed it for several days on the sites where it was happening the most. Is anyone else still suffering from this?
