update on repair of my tv that wouldnt turn on

    SuperEd
in another thread had a problem with my telly not turning on and smelt like a burnt hairdryer, i have just had the report back from the company looking at it.
Basically they are saying they inspected the laptop (no idea why it says that), and then mention the TV saying 'During workshop tests this unit failed to power up fully or operate, preliminary diagnostics suggest this to be physically damaged internal cable which has the appearance of having been torn from the internal plug connector, however the damage is internal, requiring removal of the rear cover to gain acess. with this in mind we can see no obvious connection between the issue and the even described.

In view of the comments provided by **** i now require your written response to the discrepences raised.

So basically they are saying i opened up the TV and messed about with it.
are they mad? i havent even touched it! dont know what to do now....

Write to them and say that as you haven't removed the cover, the set was obviously faulty and you'd like a full refund or exchange/repair?

Well, from what you've said they still expect you to respond, so do that and tell them you didn't remove the back cover?

No they are not, they are saying that the cable has been torn from the inside, and they need to take the cover off to look at it.

They are suggesting that the cable has had some force exerted on it, from pulling it hard, or someone tripping over the lead or something.

Tell them it was on a table, you've never even moved it in 'x' years, it has a plug directly behind it, so there was no way it was ever tripped on etc....

    Good luck
