The first thing Apple do is check for water damage. (Seriously) They shine an ultra-violet light into it. Dunno what it does or how it works..... but they did that on my iPhone a week ago and said "good - no water damage".

I wonder what songs it will play now?

    Wet Wet Wet?
    Cry me a river?

I got it from a supermarket , im hoping it wont have any visable water marks

I'll be surprised if it makes it.

obviously, rice will absorb water - this is the 'method' to this madness - what you *REALLY* want is the silica gel packs in tons of stuff from china - they are *DESIGNED* to extract water from enclosed environments. check your technology boxes, see if you have any spare silica gel packs - shove them in with the rice.

    -radishnet

There is a little patch inside where you plug the earphones into that changes if the ipod has suffered water damage.
    Google it.

Mind you - just read you bought it from a supermarket so you might get away with it.

, im googling but cant find about the colour change ? link plz ?

I've accidentally dropped one phone in a pint, another in a canal and a pocket TV in an icy river.

The pocket TV was the only one to survive once dried out. Amusingly it was a Christmas present and happened within hours of unwrapping it!

How do you drop a phone in a pint?

    dcx_badass;6416275

    My friends done it twice.

Twice? but you would have to lift it up, and then hover it above a certain area before dropping it, unless the pints were on the floor?

lucky you, guess they don't know about the water indicators then. Did they not see the screen damage? Did they check it at all?

    Original Poster

the screen was damaged in one place but it didnt really look like water damage even to me though i knew what it was , the people at apple would of know straight off of course , the supermarket did take a quick look at it but no real testing of the ipod , i put the ipod into a case to cover up the scratches on the side of it and i put a screen protector over the top to hid the screen abit , i checked for the water indicators but i count see them on my ipod nano ?

result  nice one m8

dropped mine in toilet last week, ipod touch, - clean toilet btw....
anyway, thought it was dead but left it in semi warm place wrapped in towel for 2 days and it is fine now

    good luck with yours!

edit- LOL glad you got it sorted!
