for what

Long shot. The top right hand corner is slightly off in calibration, theres nothing else wrong with the screen.

So was hoping the firmware might make it more accurate.

Long shot. Theres nothing in the way of the screen and its clean and undamged, though I have heard that most screens are slightly off. But my DS phat never has been, this is a DS-lite.

No, can`t be updated but you can recalibrate screen.

Re-calibrate is the problem its slightly off on that. Someone mentioned the touch screen film? But I can't see anything. Maybe removing the plastics and giving the screen a clean might help.

What you think?

is this serious?

Nope I just waste my time pointing out is this serious in most threads?

Turn on DS without game cartridge inserted, click on small pic of DS on bottom of screen, click on yellow target...recalibrate.

I have just recently repaired my nephews DS with a simlar problem, had to install a new touch screen...only about £3.00 from dealextreme, but quite a fiddly job.

How fiddly we talking. Its only 2 pixels might live with it for now.

Does it involve and glueing, as there really easy to break.

I opened it to fix a problem which involved soldering. No relation to the LCD and no movement was done to the LCD either.

No glueing or soldering, you need to take out bottom screen then carefully seperate touchscreen from lcd screen... (carefully as you need to use same adhesive pad which is not included with replacement)
then reassemble.

surely if you have already taken it apart you will be able to replace the screen, as long as you careful i dont think any soldering or anything is needed

Not going to believe this. Tap the screen a few times with my index finger, in a flicking motion, and its working nicely. Not sure whether theres something between where I flicked thats not that visible but its calibrated spot on.

Strange I know.

Will rep you both for your help, and thoughtful responses.

I will keep it in mind if it resorts back.

Another thing you could try, with a small brush (toothbrush or simlar) gently brush along the edges of screen, sometimes small crumbs etc can stick between causing the same fault.

is it? - not neccessarily. it could be that you have changed the angle that you are now using the ds or the way you hold the stylus - just recalibrate it to match your new position/angle and voila. i need to recalibrate it when i change from playing it when I am lying down to sitting up because of the the angle.
