Just received email from Apple that I have bought Apple Music subscription of £34.99 from Ronald's iPhone. I don't know have iPhone at all only iPad. I don't know who that is and I never registered my bank detail with help. I am shocked. How do I go about and handle it safely. Many thanks

Its a scam. Don't click anything in the email, and just check there's nothing missing from your bank / credit card. If all looks OK, ignore it.

It's fake, you'll notice the Apple links at the bottom of the email don't work.

Also if you login to iTunes independently of that email, you won't see that transaction.

I have clicked on the link and it took me to the apple official website to sign which I did however it's asking for bank details to cancel it which I did not provide as i never registered my bank details with them.

If I were you I'd login to your Apple account through iTunes and not that email, then change your password there's a risk you may have compromised it by entering your Apple account details via that link.

Most of these phishing scams want your login credentials, and the easiest way to get it is to record them when you think you're logging in to the official site (which it isn't). If you've changed your password, you should be fine.:)

It might be worth turning on the two step authentication on your apple id, to add extra protection.

Only if you use the same password as your email account. If it's got a separate password, you shouldn't need to.

There's been tons of these emails lately. Saw one on mum's email account (we family members use her Prime so I check some Amazon emails) and my sister phoned me in a panic thinking her little one had bought things on her ipad.

Look to see what the sender's email address is, that's usually a big giveaway. Don't click on it and don't log in with your details!

Edit: Just looked at the email my sister forwarded me. For some reason I can't paste the email details on here, but the sender email address is the usual gobbledygook email addresses that end up in your Spam folder.

Thanks everyone for helping me out.

this is a known scam. they email you for an outrageous subscription hoping you will cancel
with ANY suspected phishing, check all links. if it points to a website you don't recognise (e.g. apple-musicsubscription.com) be wary. go to the official company's website e.g. apple.com, natwest.com etc. and log in through the regular channels. Don't ever click on the link, maybe use a different computer. check the email it was sent from (this can be spoofed but often isn't). try a fake password and email address. if they're accepted, you know it was a scam
google the problem (often it will show up as a known scam but not always as they're pretty inventive and always coming up with new ways)
be on the lookout for anything that doesn't sit right. e.g. in this case you knew there was an issue with the bank stuff as you'd never given it to them.

if you did give them your password (and unfortunately many people who fall for these scams happen to be the ones who are less strict with security - use same passwords on multiple sites), you will have to change the password on any site connected with money. online banking tends to have multiple steps so is safer but eBay, amazon etc are common ones where they'll try the same combo and attempt to fleece.
