Hi my sister is flying in the morning and she seems to think that thomascook have a ruling on where electrical items go and she needs to be sure before sealing their suitcase, does anyone know for sure where you put hair driers etc, Hand luggage or hold suitcase luggage,

I would think it would be the suitcase as that's where i've always packed it but i've never flown with thomascook,

thanks for any help xx

found this,

Where should I pack my electrical items, gas items and aerosols during … Where should I pack my electrical items, gas items and aerosols during the flight? All electrical items, aerosols and gas filled items should be securely packed in your main luggage and stored in the hold of the aircraft. If it is a new container of aerosol, we advise that you spray some of the can’s contents to release pressure within the container. Gas cylinders must be attached to the tongs, and you cannot carry spare gas cylinders on the flight. You can use portable electronic devices such as laptops, CD players, DVD players, gameboys and walkmans during your flight, providing they are not used during take-off or landing. If you wish to use such devices on board, they can be included as hand baggage in the cabin of the aircraft. The use of mobile phones, radios or any electronic transmitting device may not be used at any time that the aircraft is in motion.

The weirdest reaction was to a three speed ceiling fan, a load of batteries and a couple of mobile phones, they could see the three speed motor and the wires from my sat nav and the batteries and the phones. They kept scrathing thier heads at the x ray so I went back and pointed the bits out, the only thing they didnt get in the end were the strange shaped brackets for the blades.........everything was passed as ok without opening my bag.

Can I carry an electric kettle in my hand luggage on a Thomas Cook flight

Yes. Thomas Cook now have plug sockets so that travellers can make their own hot drinks.

You won't be allowed to bring water onboard though but you may purchase bottled water in-flight. Although, at £5 a 500ml bottle it is very expensive.

Caution - you are not allowed to make your own hot beverages during take off, landing or during any turbulence.
Can I put my Wilkie talkies with lithium batteries in my suitcase present for Xmas for children.
