Does the usa have a cheap pay and go sim like uk does? Ive tried a google search but it keeps pointing me towards contracts. I only want a week for texts and calls. Every time ive asked in the stores, even when i speak SLOWLY, they dont seem to understand what i mean. I usually get directed to the top up cards. I am hoping someone may have already used something. Thanks

Local calls, SMS & data, or calls&SMS back to UK and data? Latter would be 3's Feel at Home. Not sure about local US-US.

Is it for use in the USA , because you could just consider buying a disposal cell phone at the airport

We were there a few years ago and just went to a T-Mobile store (USA T-Mobile, not old UK network). Back then I think we paid $30 or $40 for 7 days unlimited data and a very small number of minutes.
I think it's better now, but be aware that mobile bands in USA are different to those used here - we tend to get 'world phones' which have bands which work well in most of the world but not USA. I think 4G is better but check your phone before you travel...
