Hi. My parents bought my son a 23" LCD for his birthday. Its a Technika 23-231BB and comes with USB to allow you to record from the inbuilt freeview.. Does anyone know if this can be, um, fiddled with to allow playback as well? Ive seen hacks for other TVs but cant see anything for this one. Many thanks.

I have a Technika 20" and it can already play some files from the USB port.

Thanks for the tip, will take a look.

I can think of a technical way to possibly do it, bit of a ball ache … I can think of a technical way to possibly do it, bit of a ball ache though. Insert a formatted USB stick and record a tv program. Plug the stick into your PC and analyse the mpeg ts file it generated with ffmpeg. Take your movie of choice and re-encode to the same specifications and replace the initial recorded program (same filename)Should work, might not.

Hi, only tried a .avi file on there last night and it didnt like it so i'll take a look at other formats. Thanks
