Useful tool: TimberFrog: Amazon price notification change reminders (for claiming refunds)

Wasn't sure whether this was worth a deal post, as it is just a link to a site, but a very handy one. I'll pop it in misc for now.

If you buy anything from amazon, they have their policy that if the price lowers within 30 days of delivery, they will refund the difference. You have to be the one to instigate the refund, so it is up to you to watch out for price drops. TimberFrog has created a tool which emails you whenever there is a price drop, see it here:

You just put in the link to the item, I set the change to "any value" and pop in your email address. I changed it to "any new price", as amazon don't give you a refund if it is from a marketplace seller.

Useful tool I think!!

Excellent tool. Thanks very much!

Thanks Emma, i will write down everything i buy from amazon from now on and try to remember to check the price over 30 days.

Isn't this just the same as putting another in your basket and checking back within 30 days to see if the price dropped?

You don't have to write it down, I'm saying that this site emails you when something drops in price.

Yes, but you have to physically remember to do that. This sends you an email if there is a price drop, so you don't have to go and check manually. Also, sometimes amazon drops the price for a few days and puts it back up again, so if you only check at month end, you'd have missed out on that.

Fair point, you still have to remember to put it on that site though. Personally I use Amazon quite a bit so I can check in regularly.

I only buy from them about once a month, so it's no hassle for me to add a reminder after every purchase
