Using Franked Mail boxes if you print your postages online?

Found 23rd Apr 2009
There are two postal boxes outside the post office. One of them is the regular red box and there is another box especially for 'franked mail'. I am wondering if I print my postages online, can I put my mail into the box especially for 'franked mail' or is that for something else?

you need to have a franking machine hence thats why its called franked mail.... If you dont then you dont put it in there....

it's marked "franked mail" because it's for franked mail...
A lot of businesses use franking machines. You still need to use a normal mail box.

yeah dependent on how much you send...but the machine cost a bomb, so we returned it, the time it was taking the (idiot) admins to do it meant was costing more in time, and time is money!
So back to the stack printer! or buying stamps in bulk always worked out about same price anyways

thanks everyone. hmmmm...so if I print the postage online for items that will not fit through the mouth of the normal mail box, I will still have the line up at the post office in order to mail those larger items

I guess so. I'm sure if you speak to the person behind the counter they will confirm with you.

do you live near the sorting office? call them and ask if you can drop the items off
