Utorrent prevents Grabit from downloading. Any ideas why?

If utorrent is running, then grabit wont work and each NZB gets a message 'Unable to download from server' message.

If I stop grabit then stop utorrent and restart grabit then all the downloads work fine. The moment I restart utorrent then grabit suspends all its active downloads.

Any ideas why utorrent conflicts with grabit?

Could be utorrent using too many connections?
Try change the max connections in settings a bit lower and try again perhaps.

reduced utorrent global connections from 500 to 300 and grabit from 15 to 10

seems fine now.

I'm wondering if you have newsgroup access why you have to mess around with torrents at all?

cos I only use newsgroups for films from astraweb (180gb for £15). I use torrents for TV stuff as my ISP wont be so concerned about me dling them as they would films (imho)

Fair comment although I'm not sure ISP's care what you download. I'm with Virgin and get all my stuff from Astraweb ($11 a month - bargain!) with no issues up to now.

virgin & BT are getting hot on illegal downloaders but mainly concentrating on films / mp3 from what I can gather from the 15000 legal letters they sent out in november hence newsgroups as SSL :-D

FWIW, Virgin aren't that hot. Plus, those letters were little more than bluff and bluster. They can't prove anything.
