really? ive not heard anything, where did you find that out? im gutted.lol
There being merged into 1 radio station arnt they? Called Capital FM
not gutted but not seen anything about it either, link?
VB1 News services.

Galaxy 105 gone
All other Galaxy stations gone
Trent FM gone
Leicester Sound gone
Ram RM gone
Red Dragon FM gone

Replaced with Capital FM from London

Bit weird init.
Currently all Galaxy programming comes from Yorkshire outside of breakfast and drive. That gets replaced and rebranded as Capital FM. Local shows should in general remain as is, but outside of peak time, itll be from London not Yorkshire.

Red Dragon, currently local 24/7 gets rebranded as Capital FM and only local at breakfast and drive, the rest is from London.

Theres a rumour Galaxy Scotland and Red Dragon will have an extra 3 hours local programming because of some regulations.

Leicester Sound and Ram FM are closing completely, all programming will come from Nottingham (Trent studios) at breakfast and drive, and London. At the moment these stations are local breakfast, afternoon and drive, and regional (East midlands) off peak.

Big changes

All the local stations are merging around our way, I dare say we'll end up with a national independant radio station soon. Then BBC radio will be in trouble.
capital is pretty good

Eventually Global Radio will win, OFCOM will finally do a frequency audit, give them national heart, national Capital and space for some proper radio again.

They won't beat the BBC with the **** they put out at the moment.

Totally agree - it is. but this move kills off local radio around here in Notts, and could also end up being the downfall of 95.8 - Capital screams London, so they either alienate ex-Galaxy listeners etc, or alienate londoners.

when Heart (super crap) took over the local radio station here (which was crap as well) a new local radio station emerged....so u never know a new one might be taking over. new one is weird though.

You can tell none of them shows are live btw - whenever I have in on they never say what time it is or talk about anything thats happened that day! Also they never play the full songs AND its the same bunch of songs as well!!

I like Galaxy radio and sorry to hear that ones going

BB heart is awful isnt it. dont listen to it so dont know about it being pre recorded, but its playlist is horrible, a 'new' tune would be something from the 90s! haha
