    It's just weird that retailers started doing odd amounts. Always used to be xx.99p.

    Is there some psychology to it, so it looks cheaper?
    Is it a VAT thing, makes the books easier to manage?
    Why never an even rounded number like £29.50

    Virgin/Zavvi tried the "straight-forward" pricing. It didn't work out so well :P Moral: Customers are idiots.
