but it says you have a right to cancel on the letter.

You have a right to cancel without charge during your contract if they choose to put up your bill. They have no right to take any extras unless an explicit charge is notified in your contract usually under 'rights of cancellation'

Worth having a look but also if you speak to them get them to explain their reasons of the charge as they cant just charge you for no reason.

    just cancel your direct debit.
    simples.
    happy shopping.

ring them and ask what the charge is for would be a good place to start. Perhaps it is for their equipment

Have a rant on here rather than calling them should help

Did you cancel with it the allowed time, normally 28 days? After that, they will change you.

DO NOT just cancel the DD, they will trash your credit file and it'll take months to sort it out (assuming they are in the wrong).

But remember, if you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when the organisation asks you to.One question though. Is £99.00 a normal monthly payment?

When the OP says "now they are trying to get £99 off me" that suggests to me we are not talking about ordinary DD here. I can't tell from the OP whether DD is the normal method of payment for all things vermin. Even if I was to assume it was, this £99 seems to be for something else, especially when the OP has been given some advance notice of it.

Always good when the op doesn't actually explain what the amount is for. Did you still owe them back payments etc. £99 could easily be what you owe them and not a cancellation charge

Yeah it's just common sense that stopping a direct debit or claiming back with ease has to be based around the fact the money isn't payable.

Speak to them again and quote their terms and conditions above. Section M, point 14.

If they increase the cost of the service you may cancel without penalty.

Not sure why all the downvotes on helpful comments above?

Did you cancel everything you have with them or just the service that was going up by £2.50?
