Very laggy and slow 4gb Lenovo tab M10Plus (2nd gen)

Posted 20th Mar 2022
Got the above tablet with 4gb ram. For some reason it's slowed right down to the point where the only thing I felt I could do was a factory reset. After doing the reset it doesn't appear to be any better and am wondering if it is faulty. It's still in warranty but was wondering if anybody with the same model has had this problem or if there's any apps that could pinpoint any problems.
Thanks in advance.

Could be faulty, but the fastest core is a 2.3GHz A53, and the GPU is completely inadequate for the screen res, so it was never going to not be laggy. Can you take it back?

Yeah, for some reason (most likely cost) manufactures under spec their tablets. The only good spec tablet at the £100~£150 cost point was the Hudl, which sadly is out of support now. However the spec on it still outperforms the majority of later 7" tablets.
    I reckon it's not a fault, just a poorly spec'd tablet...

Did a 3d mark benchmark and came out at less than 500, my Xiaomi 9t pro showing over 3000.I had the Hudl 2 and what a great tablet. Probably should have kept it.

The GPU in the Xiaomi 9t pro is around 10 to 30 times faster than the GPU in the M10 plus, so I'm surprised the 3Dmark scores are only 6 times better.

The galaxy tab A7 and A8 have adequate specs at their price points - the M10 plus does not, unfortunately.

It's slow and laggy because of the MediaTek Helio P22 CPU. Maybe sell/trade it on and get another tablet? (edited)

Yeah, Hudl & Hudl 2 where great spec for the price point, sadly I have not seen anything else that comes close to the price/performance... I would really like to be proved wrong though!

Disregard everything you have read. After 3 weeks I found the solution myself. 3 weeks ago I enabled in the privacy and security menu KEEP TABLET ACTIVE WHILST IN OWNERS HANDS or DETECT MOVEMENT or something like that. Youll find it amongst PIN and Face recognition. It went from slow on a good day till no movement at all. I had O internet and it always timed out. Tried everything on these pages and nothing worked. The penny just dropped about the movement privacy setting which I had activated, so I went back and turned it off. BAM!! Instant internet again. In a flash. Back like a new tablet again. Tell me if it works for you.
