Brilliant! Can't wait for 10Mbit/sec upstream speed.

THANKS

What does Virgin honestly think people are doing with speeds like that. I get 6-7mb/s and have never thought "I wish it was faster" - apart from to get downloads quicker.

Knowing Virgin anyone who uses it will get capped anyway.

Plus, It won't be anywhere near my area for ages!

Virgin Media do not shape or cap their highest speed product generally speaking.

The main question in my mind is if it is worth £510 a year

While every product has a FUP, over the years I have never heard of anyone breaking FUP on the highest speed cable broadband, check thinkbroadband/cableforums etc.

In which case I'm back in, although Christ knows when we'll be able to get it.

As mentioned, i suspect they want a slow take up given they are rolling out a product capable of 31 Terabytes download a month.

I can only get 3mb

I know it'll probably lead to nothing, but I'd be tempted to photograph house with cable, and show them the ducting from there to you is available, is useable and explain that there's no reason at all why they can use those ducts to feed you their coax and therefore their services.

But at least you'll of tried?

My 50mb is more than enough. 100mb is plain frightening!

Id be more likely to go for it for the 10mb upload tbh

Cba to do the maths, how long would it take to download a 10gb file at max speed?

about 8/9 minutes isn't it?

I'd say so. Those 50GB Blu-Ray files I like to download would take less than an hour, I'd definitely need a few 2TB disks installing on the server!

You may also need a good lawyer as Virgin Media are one of the ISPs who enjoy divulging the information of customers suspected of raising the Jolly Rodger.

I think acs law have more pressing matters to attend to at the moment lol

I get 2mb with Sky Broadband (In an LLU area).... It's painful... No point switching to another provider, it's purely down to distance and from the exchange and poor quality of lines around here.

When my wife lands a permanent position, we are moving.. To somewhere i can either get Virgin or BT FTTC..

I wouldn't mind so much, it's just the whole High Definition streaming stuff is starting to kick in.. It's absolutely pointless attempting it on our broadband. Plus if my wife wants to go Facebook or something, i pretty much can't watch Sky Player on my 360.. Soooo frustrating.

That would be madness.
