Virgin Media broadband

I'm paying £22 for 10mg with Virgin Media and didn't have any major problems with them but I'm strapped for cash and would like find a cheaper deal.
I phoned Verigin Media and all they can offer me is a free wireless router so I gave them 1 month notice.
Thinking of giving Tiscali a call and go for a broadband&phone deal which costs £14.99 including phoneline rental, broadband speed is 8mg.
Can anyone suggest better deals?
thanks.

I left virgin and went for o2. Much quicker internet, better customer service and only £7.50 per month if you're an o2 customer or get a payg o2 sim and top it up every so often.

Its not a deal though you have posted in the wrong section

I recently changed from Pipex, owned by tiscali, to o2 and am so pleased I did...o2 are great and at £7.50 a month you cant go wrong.

I am with Virgin at the mo, it is by far the quickist broadband out there with 20mb. Being tested at 50mb in some areas too.

If u do change, be careful cause the 8mb is sometimes an upto... and the more ppl go on, only one thing is gonna happen... it will just get slower cause of the copper wiring.

Actually broadband adoption seems to have slowed right down now in the UK so I wouldn't expect many people to be hooking up for the first time in the near future. ADSL speed does drop as you get further from the exchange though (so does virgin cable's, but to a lesser degree) so you won't get 8/24Mbps unless you're living very close.
