Virgin Media coverage expansion?

Do the cable companies have any intention of cabling new streets, or are they happy with thier current coverage?

I live about a mile from Glasgow city centre in a busy residential district but cable is unavailable. I know several other people in different areas in Glasgow who are in the same situation.

What did they tell you when you called them?

Until Gov makes new laws to force councils not to charge silly amounts like £3000/meter to dig up road and to force companies to share ducting.

BTs regulatedish monopoly of copper pair phonelines will continue due to lack of competition and Cable companies will be content with their currently cherry picked areas.

LLU is helping but for us to catch up with the far east and Sweden/Norway/Finland Fibre to the Curb/Cabinet is required from BT and Cable which means more digging up and more access to road digging.
