Virgin Media Hub

Hi all ,
I'm planning on buying the cheaper virgin media hub ( not the superhub) . I'd be getting it second hand but keep hearing conflicting reports about difficulty activating it as a second owner/user with Virgin media . Is this the case?
Can someone kindly clarify
Many thanks

is the media hub a modem router? If so then it wont work, as the searial number is locked to certain accounts.

why dont you get one off them free-or is the hub not free?

thanks for your input
..yes it is a modem-router combi (pictured here)
..so can it be deregistered voluntarily by the previous owner so I can then reassociate it with my own virgin account?

amalgamates the router & modem into one unit ..I'm looking for one box-one plug solution rather that two boxes two plugs if you know what I mean

when virgin media send out their modem, or modem router (in most cases now), the serial number is locked to that persons account. The operators over the phone cannot switch it, dunno about if you can do it another way.

You cant buy one second hand as it's not theirs to sell. They remain property of virgin media (look on the sticker on the bottom).

Not sure what broadband you are on, but if you are on 20Mb you can upgrade to 30Mb for free, and pay only £30 for the superhub.

See Virgin web site.
